I like the composition on the first one a lot. Just goes to show the best camera for air displays is the one you have with you at the time.

Nice photo; bloody awful car! (My parents had one, which I would sometimes use. Dreadful.)

Nice photo; bloody awful car! (My parents had one, which I would sometimes use. Dreadful.) The swing axle rear suspension made the wheels tuck under in corners, greatly reducing the grip just when it was needed.

The swing axle rear suspension made the wheels tuck under in corners, greatly reducing the grip just when it was needed. There were bigger problems than that with the rear end. Mate of mine had one, and when the garage jacked it up to change the tyres, the entire backend drive train stayed firmly on the ground.

Exactly! And that's only ONE of the reasons I used the description "an awful car".

Attachment DeletedHorrible rainy day in Choshi last month. Would love to see this temple in better weather - it is renowned for its beautiful wisteria too.

Mum's Triumph Herald was the first car I rver travelled in, back from St John's Hospital Chelmsford.
Mind you, having been a passenger in a friend's Spitfire when she was forced to let off the throttle in a corner by someone coming the other way wanting far more road than they needed, I don't have the rosiest views on swing axle suspension. Kangarooing down a dark, tree-lined road at 60mph was a remove the upholstery from beteen my bum cheeks moment.
