Phooey! I remember when the week's five Watch with Mother programmes were Picture Book, Bill and Ben, Andy Pandy, Rag, Tag and Bobtail, and The Woodentops!
A classic set, Steve. Favourites were Rag, Tag & Bobtail, and also the Woodentops. Even as a very young child, I regarded Andy Pandy as a bit of an idiot. With the very biggest spotty dog you ever did see!

Tales of the Riverbank anyone?
With the stars of the show: Hammy and Roddy.
Now they were genuine celebrities!

Now they were genuine celebrities! More charisma than Ant and Dec, and probably as tall...

I forgot that I had intended to see if any of the racing pictures taken on the 30th worked in mono for last month's comp. I just had a try. I'm not totally convinced that it works. DSCF5515.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

DSCF5515.jpg by Pete, on Flickr I am with you in that it sort of works, trying to avoid critique but depending on the colours of the silks perhaps darkening the green channel in the mono conversion a tad would make the front two jockeys stand out from the grass a bit.
Edit: Now looking at it on the Mac Book, and I am not sure about my comments above.

I like it as an action shot but like you am not convinced about the mono...

I was using preset Acros + Ye and I had softened it a bit. Here is Acros + Gr and less softening. The racing colours have a big effect on the result! DSCF5515.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I like it as an action shot but like you am not convinced about the mono... I agree. It was only converted because I had intended to present one mono picture from the day in the monthly challenge. None of them were mono material really. I thought that at least one would be because it was a horrible grey day and hissing down. not much of a crowd DSCF5505.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

DSCF5515.jpg by Pete, on Flickr The second rider does stand out more, as it was a green filter for the second version I am guessing that the shoulders were an orange colour in the original picture. A green filter could be really useful unless trying to hide freckles these days in a PP conversion we get to play with all the filters non destructively so we can go back and have as many goes as we want. Which is good.
