There isn't usually many marked down items in our local Morrisons. Whether it's because they have stricter stock control than other stores I don't know. Every now and again my wife gets large containers full of ready cooked 'salad' potatoes from the deli salad bar for £1. Similarly large tubs of coleslaw.

One of my favourite bargains was wild salmon when I could get it cheaper than dog food. It helped that I was the one doing the reductions off the counters 4 days a week so at one point it was 90% off before another 10% off at the checkout.... I tried to limit steak to 3 times a week. According to the Tango there is nothing that can be done to a raw ribeye to make it better....I offered him raw and cooked and he went for the raw one. About as big on 'savouring' their food as my cat then! Aye, Bravo just inhales food. Watch your fingers if feeding him by hand!

Always on the lookout for yellow sticker when out on a shop though I'm noticing the markdowns are not as generous they once was. Exception being veg, the two old girls each cop a 10p bag of carrots every time we're in Attachment Deleted

Almost forgot.... about a year ago I bought an Advent Calendar left over with all windows intact for 25p (behind each window was a very small chocolate). Guess what I was eating every day in December 2022 in the run-up to Christmas.....

I just have a rough idea of the timings in the Co-Op and a big freezer-nothing tonight but Sunday I picked up a load of ready made sandwiches for 60p each that did for lunches for the next couple of days and a luxury fish pie for 96p instead of £4.50, which went in the freezer supposed to serve 2 people so with some veggies I'll get 2 dinners out of it or just one big dinner. I just got very lucky over the Xmas period as well the Tuesday after Xmas I spent £7.35 and got around £35's worth of stuff
Having said that I have to cut back because right now I have to play freezer jenga to get anything in
I'm doing my bit to prevent food waste and saving myself money
