My introductrion to photo editing was in the early 90's, Micrografx Picture Publisher V2, it came with my first scanner, over the next few years I upgraded mostly with freebies on mmagazines, Corel bought out Micrografx in 2001, used bits of PP in Corel draw then buried it. You can still download PP v10. Having used it for so long, and because it does all I want I still use it, the only other image software I use is Picasa, very handy for displaying and paging through images, also has a very neat tool for checking horizons, it places a grid over the image and a slider allows you to adjust horizon or verticals with the grid, no guessing the number of degrees clockwise or anticlockwise. The crop tool is also easier to use.
