Not seen the red one before. Never used one but have often marvelled at some of the results I've seen online, which can put wee Contaxes etc. to shame.

Lurking somewhere in the bedroom is an XA.

I've got an XA and an XA1, the two extremes of the XA range - the XA with a pretty good lens, rangefinder focusing, aperture priority, and the XA1 which is basically an XA-sized Trip.
Would love an XA4, with the 28mm macro lens.

I had an XA, with the A16 flash - I put a couple of films through it, and sold it on. Attachment Deleted

I don't think the red XA2 was a limited edition as such but you never saw many of them even when new.

Never seen a red XA2 before. I remember my late Aunt received an XA2 kit as her retirement present many, many years ago.. around 1982. I inherited it and I must still have it somewhere in the house, but I've never used it

The great thing about it is that it's small with the flash, but tiny without it, not much bigger than a Minox 35.
It probably won't surprise many of you to hear that I was given it. The light seals are going, hardly a suprise in a camera of its age but otherwise its very usable. One day I will do the seals... BUGGER! Another one on the list!

not much bigger than a Minox 35. I've got one of those somewhere - must dig it out and see if it still works.

I have an XA that I got last year just so I could own a rangefinder. The few times I have used it have been fun and it is a marvellous design, which applies to the XA range in general.
I don’t really shoot enough film because I started printing a lot more which takes up the available funds that I would otherwise use for film and getting them processed. One day…

I've got one of those somewhere - must dig it out and see if it still works. Did you find it? Yes, I did, rather to my surprise! It's a Minox 35 AF DX, complete with the AF-F clip-on flash, all in the original plastic box, but sadly without the box lining, so everything moves about. So now I am faced with three problems! 1/ Where to find the batteries? 2/ Where to find film? 3/ Where to get it processed? Actually, for the last two there is just one place left in Larnaca for that, despite twenty five years ago half the shops in the high street were offering one hour D&P. For number one, however, do they even make them anymore? Minox says Varta CR 1/3 N, Duracell DL 1/3 N or Ucar 2 L 76. Hmmm - Amazon says yes, a pair at $14.99, seems reasonable, plus $55.07 shipping. Whaaaat? Let's just say it works, and call it good!

Their prices include UK delivery, and they charge only £3.00 extra for overseas delivery.
I've used Small Battery Company several times, and they've always been reliable, reasonably priced, and good to deal with. (Disclaimer: No connection with SBC other than as a satisfied customer.)
