The shape makes me think the lowering arms have something to do with it. Can you black cloth actross it next time?

The shape makes me think the lowering arms have something to do with it. Can you black cloth actross it next time? Good question. I'm hoping to find likely causes first! I think the shape is the flap over the red window, but I can't see how light is getting in there, past the backing paper, & onto the film.

Doubt if it's the red window. The blobs from that are round and fuzzy and only in the corner when it's happened to me. Also only one blob.
Also when no cover over the window.
Could it be something to do with processing?

Why should scan0003 be OK? It is a bit odd.

Do you have a light reflection inside the camera? Something that isn't matt black?

Do you have a light reflection inside the camera? Something that isn't matt black? I'd agree, the neatness seems to me more like a reflection than light leaks, which I think tend to be softer edged.

Could it be something to do with processing? S Agreed the 69 window is bottom right of the camera back so would cause a round defect top left of the negative image, 66 window would be centred.
Side note: I do wonder how effective the red window is with faster panchromatic film, a thought that occurred to me shining a torch in the back of my 617 pinhole trying to see the frame numbers on FP4+ thought this seemed to not be problematic.

Why should scan0003 be OK? It is a bit odd. I think it is there in the original, but much fainter than the others, so it fades out when you poke the levels. Equally odd!

Some kind of internal reflection in the lens? The fact that you get a double 'flare' in scan004ed that appear identical is suspicious.

If the levels were unadjusted I'd have said that it was nearer a "correct" exposure compared to the others, which look a bit over-exposed, leading to the question "is the effect aperture specific?"

Probably not as it was pretty bright all round, I don't recall changing the aperture by more than a stop. The levels are misleading, auto levels for done reason like these quite light, with 0003 I pushed the sliders up myself.

It isn't. Unless there is a sliding cover.
