Same day later in the evening, still raining in Amble.  Amble IMG_4247edit by Keith Hudson, on Flickr We went to Amble because someone had said, go to Amble and eat fantastic sea food outside a quayside restaurant. That did not happen instead we went to CoOp, bought a bottle of wine and some bagged up Indian meals to take back to the shepherd's hut we were staying in. |

Fortunately we had no rain on the coast in Cyprus this autumn though the chap in the next hotel room returned from a motorcycle ride in the mountains absolutely soaked through. |

It's a strange thing for me, but I didn't enjoy this day trip from Newcastle when we were on holiday. It all felt a bit contrived and false. |

I was not so keen on Alnwick castle, nor the Vindolanda and Hadrian's wall day. The highlights of the week for me were Lindisfarne, Cragside and Newcastle town centre. |
